Welcome to the moving dance floor with 'Techno Gaksuli'
SEESEA, who started DJing as a member of the female DJ collective BICHINDA, has been known for playing bass music such as UK bass, footwork, and juke through various activities.
While playing bass music as her mainstay, she emphasizes the importance of melody, which remained nostalgic, and began to introduce herself under the name 'Acid Dance Macha'. Her music, with its melancholy and powerful bass as the main theme, soon became the theme of her music.
Through her morning radio appearances, the countless trot edits she found on the internet, and Pumba Sound, a market entertaining artist that she met in real life, Seesea began to think about what a true 'Techno Gaksuli' should be. Now she wears the umbrella-shaped hat that many remember and holds a microphone during her performances, including her Boiler Room set in Seoul last year.
Wanting to create something new and not just play and sing-along sets including tracks by Jung Hee-Ra and Kim Hye-Yeon, she began to carve her own path by creating her own edits to represent her style.
Inspired by TJ Media's Drum Machine, a Korean karaoke instrument which suddenly appeared on the Internet, she started to create live sets using samples of filler words collected from various folk and dance tracks and presenting them in her own way. Her first work, Jjam-Bbong, was conceived through this process of collecting.
SEESEA’s EP starts with 'Indochina Arirang,' which uses the theme of the Korean Arirang but penetrates the Asian spirit. It is then followed by 'Middle Age Crisis', which to get the party started, and ends with 'Jjam-bbong,' a techno signature for dance floors around the world.
Her EP is released on USB format (+ photo card) to follow the path of many Gaksuli* , and is available on online platforms including Bandcamp, Apple music, Spotify.

테크노 각설이와 함께 움직이는 댄스플로어 [짬뽕]을 환영하며
여성 디제이 콜렉티브 <비친다(BICHINDA)>활동으로 디제이를시작한 싯시(SEESEA)는 여러 활동을 거쳐 UK 베이스, 풋워크,쥬크 등 베이스 음악을 중심으로 플레이를 하며 사람들에게 알려져왔다.
베이스 음악을 메인으로 플레이하면서도 아련하게 남아있는 멜로디의 자리를 중요하게 생각한 그는 "애시드 댄스 마차"라는 이름으로자신을 소개하기 시작한다. 애잔함과 힘 있는 베이스를 주 테마로삼은 음악은 어느새 각설이라는 테마로 자리하게 된다.
아침 라디오 방송 출연 활동과 함께 인터넷에서 발견한 수많은 트로트의 에딧들과 실제 현장에서 만난 품바들의 모습을 보며 진정한 테크노 각설이가 무엇인가를 생각한 싯시는 이제는 많은 사람이 기억하는 우산 형태의 모자를 쓰고 마이크를 들고 등장한다.
단순히 정희라, 김혜연의 노래를 플레이하고 따라 부르는 것이 아닌자신의 것을 새롭게 만들고 싶었던 그는 여러 디제이가 그러하듯 본인만의 에디트를 만들면서 방향을 찾아가기 시작한다.인터넷에 불현듯 등장한 TJ미디어의 드럼머신에 영감을 받은 듯
사람들의 추임새를 샘플링을 사용해 라이브 셋을 만들기도 하는 등,여러 토속음악과 댄스음악을 모으고 관찰하며 자신만의 방법으로선보인 첫 작업물 짬뽕은 이런 시행착오 속에서 우리에게 도착한다.첫 번째 EP[짬뽕]은 한국 아리랑의 주제를 가지고 있지만 아시아의정서를 관통하는 "인도차이나 아리랑"으로 시작하여 본격적으로댄스 마차의 시동을 거는 “위기의 중년”을 통과해, 전 세계 댄스플로어 어디든 테크노 각설이의 시그니처로 자리매김할 “짬뽕”으로 마무리된다.
EP[짬뽕]은 수많은 각설이의 길을 따라가는 USB 포맷(+포토 카드)으로 발매되며, 밴드 캠프를 포함한 온라인 플랫폼에서 만나볼 수 있다.
